According to the types of students, there are three types of scholarships for undergraduate international students, scholarships for international graduate students and doctoral students.

How to apply

Applicants must apply to the International Student Admissions Office of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Tianjin Foreign Studies University.

Conditions for applying for scholarship

1. Applicants must be foreign citizens who apply for the undergraduate, master or doctoral degree education of Tianjin Foreign Studies University;

2. Applicants studying for undergraduates should obtain a diploma or certificate equivalent to a Chinese senior high school graduation, and be under the age of 30 .

3. Applicants studying for master’s degree should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualifications and be under 35 years of age.

4. Applicants studying for doctoral degree should have a master’s degree or equivalent academic qualifications and be under the age of 40 .

5. Did not receive any other scholarships.

Scholarship application materials

1.       Copy of ordinary passport within the validity period

Application for Chinese Government Scholarship—Belt & Road Program of Wuhan University (2021)

Chinese Government Scholarship-Belt and Road Program is a full scholarship established by the Ministry of Education to support Chinese universities to attract outstanding international students from Belt and Road Countries for graduate studies in China. Wuhan University is one of the prestigious universities designated to undertake this program to recruit graduate students for Master and Doctoral study of Geospatial Information Technology (including Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Geodesy and Surveying Engineering,  Cartography and Geographic, etc.), Information Engineering, Electronic Information(formal Software Engineering),  Civil and Water  Resources (formal Hydraulic Engineering),Civil Engineering,  Cyberspace Security and Urban and Rural Planning programs.

Supporting Categories, Duration and Instruction Language

Eligibility of Applicants

1. Applicants of non-Chinese nationality from Belt and Road countries and in good health.

2. Applicants who apply for a master degree should be under 35 years old and have a bachelor degree.

3. Applicants who apply for a doctoral degree should be under 40 years old and have a Master degree.

4. Applicants of Chinese-medium programs should have at least HSK level four certificate (Chinese Proficiency Test) when applying. Applicants who meet HSK level five or above can apply for the major study directly, those who have not reached HSK level five can apply to take Chinese language training courses for one year, and then move on to their degree study after meeting the requirement.

Applicants for English-medium programs should provide score report of English Language test. TOEFL requires 80, IELTS requires 5.5. For those who cannot offer the above-mentioned standard English test results, can provide proof of studying at a previous institution where the teaching language is English, and additional oral or written English test organized by Wuhan University will be required to participate in.

Native English-speaking applicants could be exempted from providing the above English proficiency certificate.

5. Applicants did not receive any other types of scholarship.

1. Firstly, register and submit your online application at the CSC Online Application System for International Students at http://www.campuschina.org/. After completing the online application, please download and print a hard copy of the “Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship”.

2. Next, register and submit your online application at Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students at http://admission.whu.edu.cn. Please choose sources of funds — Chinese Government Scholarship Program.After completing the online application, please download and print a hard copy of the “Application Form for International Scholars and Students of Wuhan University”.

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (written in Chinese or English).

3. Notarized highest diploma(degree certificate) and transcripts (the original notarized copies issued directly by your school/university or public notary office with an official stamp). Prospective diploma recipients should submit an official pre-graduation certificate, transcript and on-school performance certificate issued by your current school. The pre-graduation certificate should prove not only your current student status, but also the expected degree certificate and graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4. Study plan, within 800 words, written in Chinese or in English.

5. Two recommendation letters from either professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English.

6. Copy of Passport Home Page: Application shall submit a clear scanned copy of his/her ordinary passport with validity later than March 1,2022.

7. Non-criminal record report in English or Chinese. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

8. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form, filled in English or Chinese, can be downloaded from: http://admission.whu.edu.cn/en/?c=content&a=list&catid=81. The Physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid.

Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only six months. Please keep the original copy of the form for the school registration.

9. The copy of valid HSK certificate is required if applying for Chinese-medium program. The copy of valid English level certificate for English-medium program (e. g TOEFL or IELTS).

10. The copy of acceptance letter from the professor of Wuhan University (if available).

Please note:

1. There is no application fee for Chinese Government Scholarship-Belt and Road Program in Wuhan University. Applicants should apply directly to Wuhan University and cannot submit application document through any intermediary agencies.

2. Ineligible or incomplete applications will not be considered. Please ensure that an accurate phone number, email address and mailing address (including postcode, city name) are provided.

3. Applicants do not need to send us hard copies of application documents. Some of the applicants will receive the interview notice informed by our schools around early April. Only those applicants who have passed the preliminary evaluation of the university and are informed by our email notice around April 15th should submit us all application documents in one set of hard copies by DHL or EMS. As for the highest diploma (degree certificate) and transcript, the original document is not required, but one set of the original notarized highest diploma (degree certificate) and transcript should be submitted. Whether accepted or not, the document will not be returned.

4. Those applicants who do not receive our email notice around April 15th have failed the preliminary evaluation of the university.

Admission and Registration:

1. The pre-admitted students will be informed by e-mail around the end of May, 2021. The final result of scholarship winners will be informed at the end of July 2021, and the official admission document will be delivered at that time.

2. Admitted students will enroll in early September 2021, and go through the admission and registration procedures at Wuhan University in strict accordance with the time specified in the admission notice. Scholarship will not be reserved if the scholarship recipient cannot register before the registration deadline.

3. The Scholarship recipients shall not be allowed to change their host university, field of study, or duration of study stipulated on the Admission Notice after their coming to China.

Hebei Provincial Government Scholarship- Yanshan University

  The Hebei Provincial Government awards Hebei Provincial Government Scholarships to international students studying in Hebei province’s institutions of higher learning. Undergraduates, masters and doctoral students in the school can apply. This scholarship is not open to foreign students who have received Chinese government scholarships, Confucius Institute scholarships, and scholarships awarded by sending countries. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals, in good health, with excellent academic performance and good conduct. This scholarship is reviewed once a year and adheres to the principles of fairness, impartiality, openness, merit-based selection and standardization, and is used to subsidize outstanding foreign students’ tuition and living expenses during their studies at the school.

Fujian Provincial Govt. Scholarship

I. Introduction

In 2012, in an effort to further strengthen the educational exchange and cooperation between Fujian Province and the rest of the world, and to promote healthy development of the education for international students, Fujian provincial government set up scholarships for international students studying in degree programs.

II. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Educational background and age limits (as of September 1, 2021):

(1) Bachelor’s programs: hold a high school diploma or above and be under the age of 30;

(2) Master’s programs: hold a bachelor’s degree or above and be under the age of 35;

V. Scholarships Coverage and Duration

1. Standard of scholarships: RMB 30,000/year for bachelor’s programs; RMB 40,000/year for master’s programs; RMB 50,000/year for doctoral programs.

2. Distribution of scholarships: Scholarships awardees of the 2021 cohort need to first complete registration as a self-supporting new student, and pay all the fees required for study within the stipulated time. The University will return the relevant fees that were originally paid by the recipients in accordance with the scholarships’ content in around 2022 Spring.

3. Duration of scholarships: 1 year.

The University will select the best candidates from the pool of students who have passed the review to apply for the scholarship again in the following year. The shortlisted candidates will be submitted to the Fujian Provincial Department of Education for final approval.

●Applicants who come to China to study for a bachelor’s degree must have an academic background or certificate equivalent to a Chinese senior high school graduation and be under the age of 30.

●Applicants who come to China to study for a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35;

●Applicants who come to China to study for a Ph.D. degree must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.  

 3. Language requirements:

●For Chinese-taught programs, the Chinese proficiency must be at least 180 points in HSK Level 4;

●For English-taught programs, the English proficiency must be IELTS 6.0 and above (no less than 6.0 in a single subject); or TOEFL 560 or above, and the new TOEFL (Internet-based test) 78 points or above. Students from countries whose native language and official language are English are exempted from submitting an English proficiency certificate. 

Five application materials

Applicants are requested to log on to the Hainan University Study in China Application Platform https://hainu.17gz.org/ to fill in the information and upload the application materials. Prepare the corresponding paper materials according to the requirements of the following “application materials” list, and submit the application materials in duplicate to the International Student Admissions Office of Hainan University School of International Education before April 30 .

1. “Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship Application Form for International Students” and “Hainan University Application Form for Studying in China ” (filled in Chinese or English) . “Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship Application Form for International Students” is detailed in the attachment. The ” Application Form for Studying in China at Hainan University ” needs to be filled in at the Hainan University Studying in China Application Platform https://hainu.17gz.org/ .

2. A copy of the first page of a valid ordinary passport.

3. A notarized copy of the highest degree certificate and transcript (notarized Chinese or English translations should be attached to the non-Chinese or English version); if the applicant is a student, the expected copy issued by the school should be submitted Graduation certificate, the original or notarized certificate of academic qualifications must be submitted after admission; if the applicant is already employed, an in-service certificate issued by the employer must be submitted separately.

4. Copy of language proficiency certificate : apply for a Chinese-taught program, provide HSK score report or other equivalent Chinese proficiency certificate; apply for an English-taught program, provide a TOEFL or IELTS certificate.

5. Copy of “Foreigner Physical Examination Record” and blood examination report. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” for inspection. The “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” that is missing, does not have a photo of the person posted, or is not stamped with a seam seal on the photo, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital, is invalid.

6. Two recommendation letters from the teachers of the graduated school or the current college.

7. Study and research plans in China. Written in Chinese or English ( 1000 characters to 1500 characters) .

8. Proof of no criminal record.

9. For international students who have already studied in China to apply to study in our school, the applicant must provide a valid visa or study residence certificate issued by another school, and must provide the “Certificate of End of Study” or “Certificate of Transfer” issued by the above-mentioned school.

10. Personal resume. If you have published or written papers, works, works, etc., please attach them together.

11. I has acquired foreign nationality at birth but one or both parents as Chinese citizens of the applicant, or formerly foreign nationality after the Chinese citizens over more than four years (including) the applicant shall provide the applicant recently outside the four years Proof of residence and the signature page of the passport for entering and leaving China.

Note:

1. All application materials should be bound into a booklet in the upper left corner in order. In duplicate, one is the notarized original and the other is the photocopy. Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned.

2. If the applicant’s conditions or application materials do not meet the regulations and requirements, the application will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted;

3. The applicant must fill in all the information truthfully. Please provide translations for documents that are not in Chinese or English;

4. After receiving the application materials, the office will not reply one by one, please contact us for confirmation.

6. Admission and admission

1. After receiving the application materials, Hainan University will review and select the best candidates for admission;

2. For applicants who are pre-admitted by Hainan University, the Hainan Provincial Department of Education will determine the final admission result and give feedback to the school (the specific time will be determined by the Hainan Provincial Department of Education);

3. After the final admission result is confirmed, Hainan University will announce the admission result online, and send the “Admission Notice” and “Visa Application Form for Studying in China” (JW202 Form ) to the admitted (usually in July);

4. Entry time: generally in September , subject to the time on the admission notice;

5. Scholarship recipients must participate in the annual scholarship review as required after enrollment. Those who fail to pass the review will be suspended or disqualified from the scholarship;  

6. Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their admission institutions, majors and duration of study after coming to China;

7. Scholarship qualifications will not be reserved for those who cannot come to China to study within the time limit for admission.

Jilin Government Scholarship Application

一、Scholarship Application

(一)Application Requirements

1.Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.

2.Applicants should comply with the laws and regulations in China, and comply with the rules and disciplines of schools.

3.Applicant should have obtained the bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

4.Applicant should have good grades and get recommendation letters from 2 professors/assistant professors.

5.Applicant should NOT be awarded with other Chinese Government Scholarships of all levels.

(二)Application Procedures and Time

Foreign students can seek advice from the relevant government departments, agencies, and Chinese embassies and consulates. The applicants can log on the relevant website of universities that recruit foreign students and check the scholarship students information. According to the application requirements, the applicants should directly submit the written applications to the certified colleges and universities for academic year. The applied majors should be available for the foreign masters.

(三)Application Materials: (all the material should be in Chinese or English)

The applicants must fill in and submit the following documents truly, correctly and completely:

1、Application form for Jilin Government Scholarship;

2、The notarized photocopy highest diploma and transcripts. If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide documents of being university students or on-post employees. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English;

3、HSK Certificate;

4、The original and photocopy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner;

5、A study and research plan of studying in China (no less than 1000 words);

6、Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors.

Personal application will NOT be accepted once all the applications are submitted to province education department. Application materials will NOT be returned regardless of the result of application.

二、Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

Jilin Government Scholarship is full scholarship. The students should be postgraduate students. The durations of professional studying and scholarship are two years. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation fees, comprehensive insurance and monthly living allowance (CNY1700 per month).

CQUPT President Scholarship

(For All International Students)

1. Supporting Categories and Duration

 Supporting Category: Chinese Language studies students, undergraduate, master and doctoral students.

 2.  Scholarship Standard

(1) For Chinese Language studies students, undergraduate & master students

1. First class: master degree CNY10,000/year;                        

                       bachelor degree& Chinese language students CNY6,000/year

2. Second class: master degree CNY 8,000/year;                          

                       bachelor degree& Chinese language students CNY4,000/year

★ Scholarship could offset a part of the tuition fee.

(2) Doctoral students

Tuition Fee Waived

Free university dormitory (Twin Room)

Stipend: CNY3500/month

★ It supports students for no more than 4 academic years. Students need to attend the Annual Review, the university could suspend or cancel all of your scholarship if you fail to pass the annual review.

1). Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;

2). The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

         be a high school graduate under the age of 45 when apply for the Chinese Language programs;

         be a high school graduates under the age of 25 when apply for the undergraduate programs;

         be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master programs;

         be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs.

3). Applicants should not be holding any other scholarship.

Step2: Complete the online application procedure at CQUPT International Student Service System: https://cqupt.17gz.org. Please choose your program:  Chinese School Scholarship, and upload the required documents including the completed Application Form for CQUPT President Scholarship, and then submit online application form.

Whether accepted or not, the document will not be returned.

University will contact with you by email after university received your application documents.

Please ensure that an accurate phone number, email address and mailing address (including postcode, city name) are provided. 

In addition to the above application document, the university has the right to require the applicant to provide other materials if it is necessary.

6. Others

1).The Scholarship will not be reserved if the recipient cannot register in CQUPT before the registration deadline (The registration time will be notified on the admission notice).

2).The Scholarship recipients shall not change their field of study or duration of study unless they give up the scholarship.

3).The Scholarship qualification will be reviewed annually. The university could suspend or cancel all of your scholarship if you fail to pass the annual review.
