New Silk Road Scholarship for International Students in China Application Procedures 2021 Chongqing Normal University

In response to Chairman Xi Jinping’s “One Belt, One Road” grand strategy, to further expand the enrollment scale of our school’s foreign students in China, and at the same time to encourage our school’s international students to abide by the law and study diligently, Chongqing Normal University provided an opportunity to apply to study in our school. The “Chongqing Normal University New Silk Road Scholarship” will be set up for overseas students (including undergraduates, postgraduates , doctoral students, and language students) who have come to China for over 20 years . The “Chongqing Normal University New Silk Road Scholarship” is divided into two awards, first-class and second-class according to the types of students.

1. Scholarship funding standards

First-class scholarship: full tuition fee waiver; Second-class scholarship: 50% tuition fee waiver.

The country of application is: Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, the Philippines, Hungary and other Belt and Road countries.

Remarks: The tuition fee is the tuition fee standard announced in the enrollment brochure of our school for international students. It does not include comprehensive medical insurance, accommodation, living expenses, textbook fees, registration fees and other expenses.

2. Scholarship application requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

2. Apply to our school for full-time study for one year or more;

3. Be friendly to China and promise to abide by Chinese laws, regulations, school rules and school discipline;

4. Applicants for a doctorate degree should have a bachelor’s degree, with excellent academic performance, and under the age of 40; applicants for a master’s degree should have a bachelor’s degree, with excellent academic performance, and under the age of 35; applicants for a bachelor’s degree Must have an education equivalent to a Chinese high school graduation, and be under the age of 25;

5. The attendance rate of international students in Chongqing Normal University must reach 90% or more, actively participate in various group activities of the school, and have no records of violations of laws or school disciplines;

6. Those who have received various scholarships from the Chinese government cannot apply for the Chongqing Normal University President Scholarship during the period of the scholarship.

3. Application process

1. Complete the online application for ” Study Abroad “

Log on to the website of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Chongqing Normal University, register in the “student study abroad” registration system ( http://foreignstudent.cqnu.edu.cn ) and submit electronic scans of relevant certification materials.

2. Send application materials

Paper application materials (all in triplicate: one original and two copies): Applicants will not be returned regardless of whether they are admitted or not. There are 3 copies of all application materials , please mail them to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Chongqing Normal University .

4. Scholarship application materials

Applicants must log on to the website of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Chongqing Normal University, register on the website of Foreign Student Study Abroad ( http://foreignstudent.cqnu.edu.cn ) and submit electronic scans of relevant certification materials, and submit the paper files (in one format) Two copies) sent to the International Students Office of Chongqing Normal University. No matter whether they are admitted or not, the applicant’s materials will not be returned. The application materials are as follows:

1. “Chongqing Normal University New Silk Road Scholarship Application Form” (Annex 1) “Chongqing Normal University Admission Application Form” (Annex 2).

2. Notarized highest education certificate. If the applicant is a student of Chongqing Normal University, he/she must also submit an enrollment certificate and transcript issued by the school where he/she is studying. Documents in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

3. Notarized highest academic transcript. Documents in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4. Study and research plans in China, written in Chinese or English.

5. HSK level 4 certificate must be submitted for undergraduate application; HSK level 5 certificate must be submitted for master/doctorate application.

6. Two letters of recommendation. Applicants for master’s/doctorate degree are required to provide recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors in their home country, written in Chinese or English. International students at Chongqing Normal University need to provide a recommendation letter from the international student management department or teacher.

7. Students applying for music majors must submit CDs of their own works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide CDs of their own works (2 sketches, 2 color paintings, and 2 other works).

8. A copy of “Foreigner Physical Examination Record” (not required for international students in Chongqing Normal University) (Attachment 3)

9. Copy of passport.

10. Proof of no criminal record.

11. Bank deposit certificate (a deposit certificate of not less than RMB 25,000).
